I was determined to make this quarter mine. I was looking forward to the classes I chose and was excited about, the chance to take pictures in the snow and at my karate school, opening a poetry reading through my internship, the preparation for my study abroad. But the impression that will linger of this quarter was the tenth week, when the university shut down and moved online due to COVID and the world came to a standstill, the beginnings of a pandemic that would stretch on for months. I am still proud of the work that I did this quarter, but I am hoping we will reach a point where the work feels important again in the face of the wider world.
